Rod Hanson
Director, Health, Safety, Environment and Quality
Rod Hanson is the Director of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality at
Alyeska Pipeline Service Company. He is responsible several major
management systems and programs including Occupational Health, Safety,
and Environment, Quality Assurance, Risk Management, Crisis Management,
Inspection Services, and Loss Prevention.
Rod is essentially a “risk manager” and assumed this new position on
August 1, 2006.
Rod joined the company in 1991 and held various progressive positions in
Engineering, Maintenance, and Project Management before joining
Operations Line Management in 1995, dividing his time between the North
Slope and traveling along the Pipeline.
He later became Pipeline Manager, based in Fairbanks, and subsequently
to Valdez as the Marine Terminal Manager for five years before
transferring to Anchorage in 2005. Prior to his current position he also
served as Alyeska’s Commercial Manager.
Rod holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering from the
Oregon Institute of Technology. He achieved Professional Engineer
registration in Oregon, Washington, California and Alaska.
