Kathy Zinn
Senior Director, Valdez Operations

Kathy Zinn is the Senior Director, Valdez Operations for Alyeska Pipeline Service Company, and has overall accountability for Alyeska’s Ship Escort Response Vessel System and the Valdez Marine Terminal. Kathy is also responsible for leading the modernization of Alyeska’s Ballast Water Treatment Facility that involves transitioning to current technology to upgrade 30-year-old equipment and controls.  

Kathy joined the company in 2000, managing Analytical Laboratory Services at the terminal, in charge of quality control for incoming oil, and also for most water-quality testing at the ballast water facility. She later served as the Chief of Staff, accountable for managing projects and commitments for the president and CEO, and working with the TAPS Owners Committee. 

She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida, and more than 10 years of management experience in operations, research, quality and safety.  Kathy’s career has given her hands-on and leadership experience in many different areas of business, including operations and maintenance, safety, quality, and strategic planning and execution. 

Her current volunteer work includes board positions with the United Way of Valdez and the Copper River Basin Child Advocacy Center.
