PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Pursuant to Section 29 of the Right of Way Agreement Alyeska Pipeline Service Company (ALYESKA), provides scholarship and internship funding to Alaska Natives. An organization may submit a proposal to ALYESKA using the guidelines outlined below.

 

GOAL

The goal of this scholarship funding is to provide partial monetary support to organizations and Alaska Natives for training, education, and internships that are needed in preparation for careers on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) or other oil industry related jobs. This funding is strategically focused to increase the pool of qualified Alaska Native applicants in specific job categories.

ELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS

  • Training and education institutions (university/trade schools/etc.).

  • TAPS contractor companies.

  • Alaska Native Corporations/Non-Profits/Tribes/Foundations or other non-profit organizations serving Alaska Native people.

 

ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Organizations must demonstrate their track record or complete a planning strategy that links their potential scholarship recipients to TAPS or other oil related jobs within the Strategic Focus areas as defined below.

 

 

Prospective Scholarship Applicant:

Alyeska has allocated all the Fall 2008 and Spring/Summer 2009 scholarship dollars to outside organizations which will manage and allocate the scholarships per their defined programs which are intended to increase Alaska Native hire opportunities on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline.

 

A list of the organizations that have been allocated money are available below. You should contact these organizations to see if they have any opportunity for scholarships for you.
