Oil Spill Prevention and Response

The Oil Spill Response Exercise Program was developed to establish a workable exercise program which meets the business needs and regulatory compliance requirements of oil spill response preparedness.

The exercise program should be viewed as an opportunity for continuous improvement of the Pipeline response plan and the response system Alyeska has in place. The Oil Spill Response Exercise Program will be conducted in a 3-year exercise calendar.

The following exercises will be conducted during the 3-year exercise cycle:

  • 12 Qualified Individual Notification Exercises
  • 3 Fairbanks Business Unit Incident Management Team Exercises
  • 42 Pipeline Right-of-Way Reconnaissance (Recon) Exercises
  • 42 Pipeline Right-of-Way Deployment Exercises (6 of which will be mutual-aid with OSRO's, ACS and SERVS)
  • 42 Pump Station Deployment Exercises
  • 42 Pump Station On-Scene Command Exercises (Some of these exercises may be table top while others are part of a deployment exercise)
