Legislative citation presented to TAPS

Alaska State Representative Eric Feige (R-District 12) visited Pump Station 1 to commemorate the anniversary of the January 2011 shutdown and to deliver a legislative citation to the crew there. Feige told TAPS workers, “Ninety-two percent of the state’s revenue comes through this building and Alaskans are grateful for the work you did last winter to keep the oil moving under challenging conditions.”

The PS1 on-shift crew attended the presentation, along with representatives from Operations, Projects, Engineering, and Houston Contracting Co.

Feige has also visited the Operations Control Center and the Valdez Marine Terminal. Feige, whose district stretches from Valdez to Pump Station 7, co-chairs the House Resources Committee. He was prime sponsor of the citation, which was signed by Speaker of the House Mike Chenault and President of the Senate Gary Stevens; every other Alaska legislator signed on as co-sponsor, commending Alyeska and its contractors.
