President's Message
Kevin Hostler, President and CEO
Open Work Environment on TAPS
Every
day our professional workforce continues to deliver high safety
and quality standards to maintain integrity in all business
practices. Our internal work environment is held to these same
high standards. Providing a positive, open work environment
within a culture of safety is a responsibility that we take very
seriously.
Alyeska is committed to an Open Work Environment (OWE) in which
TAPS’ employees work together to ensure and maintain safety,
system integrity and environmental protection. Barrier free
issue reporting is a fundamental principal behind OWE, ensuring
that all individuals working on TAPS feel free to, and are
willing to, raise issues, concerns and questions regarding the
operations of TAPS. We value and respect differing professional
opinions and believe inquisitive viewpoints and challenging
minds are imperative in situations where safety is our ultimate
concern. I am confident in management’s ability to respond to
concerns and deal with them appropriately. Additionally, I will
ensure that there are effective alternative avenues for
employees to raise concerns that are unable to be resolved
through management. Further, I am available to help resolve any
issues that cannot be addressed through other means.
Developing and maintaining consistent accountability is a
fundamental priority here at Alyeska, as well as a critical
element of OWE. I will continue to make certain our workforce is
equipped with necessary resources and training to promote
teamwork and cross-department success. We intend to create an
environment where continuous improvement and innovation is
valued, strong leadership and accountability is well represented
at every level – and our culture of safety and integrity
continues to be a prominent cornerstone in our business
practices.
