Alyeska's Chief
of Staff addresses Alaska Federation of Natives Convention
Alyeska
Chief of Staff Kim Reitmeier discussed the importance of
Alyeska's relationship with the Alaska Native community and the
challenges Alyeska faces related to declining throughput at the
2009 AFN Convention at the Dena'ina Convention Center in
Anchorage. Click here to see the

Reitmeier's address was one element of Alyeska's widespread
involvement at AFN this year. Earlier in the week, on behalf of
the TAPS owners, Alyeska representatives announced that a gift
of $500,000 would go to the First Alaskans Institute, a
non-profit organization that develops the capacities of Alaska
Native people and their communities to meet the social, economic
and educational challenges of the future.
Alyeska also sponsored AFN's Parent of the Year award for the
10th straight year. This year's recipient was Noah Naylor of
Kotzebue, nicknamed "Mr. Mom" for raising his daughters while
promoting strong family values and taking an active roll in
their education.
In addition, dozens of Alyeska
employees volunteered at or participated in events throughout
the AFN gathering and the Elders and Youth Convention earlier in
the week. |
