Mobile Command Post
Alyeska Pipeline Service Company continuously maintains oil spill
contingency plans and equipment and trains prevention and response
crews for incidents along the entire 800-mile-long trans-Alaska
pipeline corridor and in Prince William Sound. Incident response
can be directed from Alyeska’s Mobile Command Post (MCP), a
53-foot-long step-deck trailer that provides more than 600 square
feet of office space with self-contained power, heat and air
conditioning. The MCP has state-of-the-art communications
equipment and can be rapidly deployed to drill or incident sites
almost anywhere along the pipeline or at the Valdez Marine
Terminal.
