Pump Station Power Supply: Crews prepare to place cable, connect electricity at reconfigured stations

For the past year workers have been preparing Pump Stations 1, 3, 4 and 9 to receive new pumping systems and operating equipment. The project called Strategic Reconfiguration will upgrade and standardize equipment by placing new electric-motor-driven pumps at the reconfigured stations in an effort to reduce costs, improve operating efficiency, and increase pipeline safety and reliability.

Alyeska contributes to successful engineering program

The University of Alaska Anchorage's Alaska Native Science and Engineering Program (ANSEP) has a 70 percent retention rate, which is impressive when compared to the 27 percent national average retention rate for indigenous engineering students in similar programs. Alyeska was one of the initial financial supporters of ANSEP and remains a major contributor.

In preparing for my first full year at Alyeska, I have outlined an aggressive yet attainable set of goals for 2006. Our focus: the execution of our core business – safety, reliability, environmental performance. Meeting our schedule and commitments on the Strategic Reconfiguration project and managing our expenses will also be included on our report card for 2006.

Kim Eaton
Women and Minority Business Enterprise Program Lead

Kim Eaton, a lifelong Alaskan, has been with Alyeska almost two and a half years. As Commercial Services Lead, Kim oversees the company's travel and procurement card program, procurement document control and commercial systems administration. She also manages Alyeska's Women and Minority Business Enterprise (WMBE) Program.

An avid outdoors person, she spends her free time playing hockey, skiing, hiking, biking, camping and running (she is a Honolulu Marathon veteran). A true Alaskan from the get-go, Kim also won a Junior World Championship Dog Sled Racing title at the age of 10.
