ANCHORAGE, AK -- April 23, 1996, 8:00 a.m. -- Alyeska announced today that crews will visually inspect all vaults and access sites at every underground check valve on the trans-Alaska pipeline today. "We have no reason to expect problems. In fact our regular maintenance program is very thorough, but we think it is good business based on what we have seen at milepost 594 to make a linewide inspection," said John Dayton, Alyeska Vice President of Operations.
