ALYESKA COMPLETES CHECK VALVE REPAIR

ANCHORAGE, AK -- April 25, 1996, 5:00 p.m. -- Alyeska Pipeline Service Company reported today the completion of mechanical repairs to Check Valve 92. The bypass line of the check valve has been replaced and the valve has been returned to service in complete accordance with Alyeska's recently improved Quality program.

Execution of contaminated soils continues at the worksite. No contamination has been found outside of the immediate vicinity of the pipeline. No surface or ground water contamination has been found at the site. There have been no observed wildlife impacts associated with this incident.

A complete analysis of the incident is being conducted according to Alyeska's Quality program.
