HELICOPTER MAKES CONTROLLED LANDING

ANCHORAGE, AK -- JUNE 3, 1996. --
Alyeska Pipeline Service Company reported today that a helicopter supporting routine
pipeline maintenance in the Pump Station 10 area made a controlled emergency landing after
one of the helicopters two engines malfunctioned. The pilot landed the helicopter at
the Sourdough Lodge with two passengers. No injuries or damage to the helicopter occurred.
Crews from Pump Station 10 are investigating the cause of the engine malfunction.
