Two Great Horned Owls Released Into the Wild

ANCHORAGE, AK -- OCTOBER 9, 1997 - The Bird Treatment and Learning Center will release two Great Horned Owls into the wild tomorrow, October 10, at 12:00 noon. The two owls were rescued by workers along the trans-Alaska pipeline last spring after the baby owls had fallen out of their nest. The nest was determined to be too small for the two chicks as well as one chick remaining in the nest. The two owls were brought to Anchorage and raised for release.

The release will occur at the home of Marilyn McGee, 16551 Chasewood. Directions: Take Old Seward highway south, past site of old Rabbit Creek Inn. Left on Chasewood Lane, toward the mountains, all the way to the end.
