JOB SELECTIONS CONTINUE AT ALYESKA
|
ANCHORAGE, AK. April 4, 1997. --
Alyeska Pipeline Service Company announced today that several employees have accepted new
positions within the company.
Jim Sweeney, currently Environment Manager,
will take over the duties of Employee Concerns Program and Business Practices Manager. Mr.
Sweeney will report directly to the president and work in the Anchorage Corporate Offices.
Mr. Sweeney joined Alyeska in 1989. He and his wife, Samme, will remain in Anchorage.
Betsy Haines, currently Pump Station 3 Area
Team Leader, has accepted the position of Assistant to the President and CEO, Bob Malone.
Ms. Haines will act as liaison to the executive office and coordinator of pipeline Owner
activities. Ms. Haines moved with her family to Alaska in 1969 and joined Alyeska in 1990.
Rod Worl, currently Financial Services
Coordinator for Alyeska's Information Technology Group, has accepted the position as
Assistant to the Executive Team, reporting to the President Bob Malone. Prior to joining
Alyeska almost a year ago, Mr. Worl worked throughout the state in a variety of different
business sector positions within the timber and fishing industries and magazine
publishing. Mr. Worl, his wife Dawn Dinwoodi, and children Crystal, Rico and Kyle are
long-time Alaskans.
Rod Hanson, currently Northern Business
Unit Leader, has accepted the position as Pipeline Manager out of the Fairbanks Business
Unit. As the pipeline manager, Mr. Hanson will be responsible for the safe and
environmentally sound operation of the pipeline from Prudhoe Bay to pipeline milepost 647
near the Gulkana River. Mr. Hanson began working at Alyeska in 1991. He and his wife,
Margaret, and children Kristin and Rick, will relocate to Fairbanks with this new
assignment.
John Baldridge, currently Oil Movements
Team Lead, will become Manager of the Valdez Marine Terminal. Mr. Baldridge's
responsibilities will include the safe operation of the Marine Terminal and the pipeline
from milepost 647 to Valdez, including Pump Station 12. Mr. Baldridge moved to Valdez in
1976 and joined Alyeska in 1977. He and his wife, Sheila, will continue to reside in
Valdez.
Tim Plummer will continue as the Manager of
the Ship Escort Response Vessel System, reporting to the Vice President of the Valdez
Business Unit. In addition to his current responsibilities, Captain Plummer will also take
over responsibility for the Marine Terminal and Pipeline Oil Spill Contingency Plans.
Captain Plummer is on-loan to Alyeska from British Petroleum. He and his wife, Faye, will
continue to reside in Valdez.
Chuck O'Donnell, currently the System Wide
Operations Team Lead, will become the Business Development/Strategic Planning Coordinator
working for the Vice President of Strategic Planning and Control. Mr. O'Donnell will be
focused on developing other business opportunities for Alyeska Pipeline. Mr. O'Donnell and
his wife, Peggy, have lived in Alaska for 21 years. Mr. O'Donnell started with Alyeska in
1976 and has worked in various departments throughout the company.
Jennifer Ruys will continue as the Media
Relations Manager for Alyeska in addition to assuming managerial responsibilities for the
Corporate Communications Department. Ms. Ruys joined Alyeska in 1994 and will remain in
the Anchorage Corporate Offices.
