WEBB SELECTED AS PRESIDENT OF BP COLOMBIA

ANCHORAGE, AK -- June 16, 1997. --
Alyeska Pipeline Service Company announced today that Doug Webb will be returning to BP
and has been selected as President of BP Colombia. Since 1993 Webb has served as Senior
Vice President of Health, Safety, Environment and Corporate Affairs at Alyeska. He brings
some thirty-five years of experience in the oil and gas exploration and production
industry to his new role in Colombia.
Webb received his Bachelor of Science in
Petroleum Engineering from the University of Kansas in 1961. He served as an officer in
the U.S. Navy for four years, before going to work for Exxon in 1963. Webb joined the
Standard Oil Company in 1982 as Deputy Director of the Federal Government Affairs office
in Washington, D.C. and then held various domestic and international roles with SOHIO and
BP before coming to Alyeska on loan from BP in 1993. Webb and his wife Judi will be moving
to Colombia this summer. His appointment is effective September 1, 1997.
