SENIOR MANAGEMENT CHANGES AT ALYESKA PIPELINE SERVICE
COMPANY

ANCHORAGE, AK AUGUST 13, 1998
Alyeska Pipeline Service Company announced today the following organizational
changes:
- Lee Jones, Vice President of the Fairbanks
Business Unit responsible for pipeline operation, will be on sabbatical at the University
of Washington in the Master's in Business Administration Program. Jones will leave
Fairbanks on September 11, 1998. A search is being conducted for his replacement.
- Rob Shoaf will assume a new position
reporting to Alyeska President Bob Malone. Shoaf will serve as the Senior Executive in
charge of leading an effort to create an open business environment at Alyeska.
- Bill Howitt has been named Vice President of
Corporate Services, responsible for External Affairs, Government Relations, Law, Corporate
Safety and Corporate Security. Howitt is a 24-year Alyeska employee who has served in a
variety of Operational and Corporate functions, most recently as Vice President of BP
Pipelines (Alaska) Inc.
- Bill Newbold has returned from leave and
will be resuming his duties as Senior Vice President of the Valdez Business Unit.
