ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGES AT CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS
|
ANCHORAGE, AK MARCH 1, 2000 Bob Malone, President and CEO/COO of
Alyeska Pipeline Service Company, announced today that Melphine Evans has been named the
Senior Vice President of Administration and Chief Financial Officer for Alyeska Pipeline. As Sr. Vice President of Administration, Evans
will have accountability for Human Resources, Open Work Environment, Legal, Finance,
Information Technology, External Affairs, Security, Support Services, and Oil Movements. Evans, a long-time Alaskan, is active in many
community events. Evans is the Vice Chair for
the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation and Chair of the Audit Committee. She is a member of the Board of Directors for
Standing Together Against Rape (STAR), Akeela House, and the American Association of
Blacks in Energy and is on the Advisory Board for the Anchorage Daily News. Evans received a Masters of Science from
Carnegie-Mellon University in Management & Policy and joined Alyeska in 1997 as Vice
President of Strategic Planning and Control after serving five years as the Chief
Financial Officer of the Anchorage Telephone Utility.
Rob Shoaf will serve as Vice President, JPO Relations,
reporting to Malone. Shoaf has been with
Alyeska Pipeline for eighteen years. He is on
the Board of Directors for the Anchorage United Way and is Chair-elect for the Alaska
State Chamber of Commerce.
Denis LeBlanc
will serve as the Vice President & General Audit Manager reporting to Malone. LeBlanc will be accountable for internal audit,
quality and inspection, Business Practice Office, Employee Concerns Program, and Right of
Way compliance. LeBlanc is a member of the
Board of Directors for the Anchorage Symphony the Western Alaska Council of the Boy
Scouts.
In addition, the following personnel
announcements were made with these individuals reporting to Evans as Sr. Vice President of
Administration.
David Otto
has been promoted to Vice President, Human Resources. Otto has accountability for
recruitment, training, organizational development, Alaska Native Hire and diversity,
medical, workers compensation, compensation and benefits, and open work
environment. Otto moved to Alaska in 1983 and was the Personnel
Director for the State of Alaska 1988 to 1991. He
joined the Human Resources Department at the Trans Alaska Pipeline System in 1992. Otto received his doctorate in Counseling in 1977.
Ervin Barnes
has been named the Acting Chief Information Officer.
Barnes has a B.S. in Mathematics, an M.B.A. in Business/Quantitative Analysis, and
over 25 years of experience in the information technology area, most recently as the CIO
of Powerware Corporation.
Jennifer Ruys
has been promoted to External Affairs Director. Ruys
will be responsible for all internal and external communications, media relations,
community relations and state and federal government relations. Prior to joining Alyeska in 1994, Ruys was
employed at KTUU Channel 2 News for 7 years.
Charlene Hutton will become the Support Services Manager. In that role, Hutton will be accountable for
safety, environment, crisis management, emergency preparedness, and building services. Hutton has worked for Alyeska Pipeline for 16
years.
Lon Trotter
will continue as Vice President and General Counsel will lead and be accountable for all
Alyeskas legal efforts. Trotter is
currently on the Boards of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club, Alaska Public
Telecommunications Inc., and the Resource Development Council. Trotter has been with
Alyeska since 1980.
Desi Mayo
will continue as Controller with responsibility for accounting, accounts payable, and
payroll functions. He will assume the
additional responsibilities for Alyeskas treasury, contracts, planning and internal
control functions. Prior to coming to
Alyeska, Mayo was the Chief Financial Officer for the Mat-Su Bureau for 10 years.
Tom Stearns will continue as Corporate Security Director and oversee TAPS
security activities. Stearns joined Alyeska
Pipeline in 1995 after a 22 year career with the Alaska State Troopers.
Betsy Haines
will continue in her role as Oil Movements Manager with responsibility for oil measurement
and scheduling functions. Haines moved to
Alaska with her family in 1969 and joined Alyeska Pipeline in 1990.
