EATON JOINS ALYESKA

April 25, 2000 Longtime Alaska
business and native leader Perry Eaton has joined Alyeska Pipeline
Service Company as Corporate Relations Manager. Eaton will work
with Alyeskas Fairbanks Business Unit helping the company
continue developing relationships with Native corporations situated
along the pipeline corridor.
Eatons extensive knowledge of the
people in the Ahtna and Chugach regions will be invaluable to the asset
managers who are responsible for maintaining positive relationships with
the communities affected by the Trans Alaska Pipeline System, said
Bill Howitt, Senior V.P. in charge of the Fairbanks Business Unit.
Eatons primary function will be to
assist in defining clear and concise expectations of all parties and
will serve as a cross cultural bridge between Alaska Native Claims
Settlement Act and Native non-profit corporations and Alyeska.
Eaton has most
recently served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Alaska
Native Heritage Center, which opened in Anchorage in 1999. Prior to
accepting that position, he spent over 25 years in finance, banking and
development-related positions, including seventeen years as chief
executive officer of a community development corporation.
Eaton has worked
on a wide range of issues affecting indigenous peoples and was appointed
by President Bush to chair the Federal side of the Joint Federal-State
Commission on Policy and Programs affecting Alaska Native people.
