WEEK OF MARCH 16, 1998

Pump Station 4
Tank Liner Repair Nears Completion
The Pump Station 4 Crude Storage Tank
Project is nearing completion. The cathodic tank protection system is now in place and the
new floor installation is complete. To finish the entire scope of work, two items remain:
painting and hydro-testing, both of which will occur in June. The tank is tentatively
expected to be back in service by the end of June 1998.
The bottom of the tank was removed in
September for the installation of a new cathodic protection system. Although the tank
floor was sound, small holes were found in the secondary containment liner underneath the
tank requiring a new liner. In early December, the tank was jacked up approximately two
feet off the tank liner and placed on blocks to allow for removal of the secondary
containment liner. A new concrete ring wall was installed as a foundation and liner
connection for the tank. The crude storage tank was then lowered and placed on a new
foundation in January.
