New Prevention Response Tug
Returns to
Shipyard for Repairs
The new Prevention and Response Tug, Attentive,
is returning to the shipyard in
Anacortes, Washington for repairs.
The Attentive, a tug designed and built specifically for
Alyeska Pipelines tanker escort operations in Prince
William Sound and operated by Crowley Marine Services,
developed a hydraulic leak in one of the Aquamaster
propulsion unit drive shafts while on her maiden
voyage to Alaska at the end of April. The vessel was
routed to Seward for inspection and emergency repair
work. Last Thursday, Crowley made the decision to
return the vessel to the shipyard to further investigate the
problem and make satisfactory repairs.
