Alaska- The Great Land

34[1].jpg (50761 bytes) Kanuti River

"The Kanuti River meanders across muskeg a few miles south of the Arctic Circle in the Alaska Interior.  The river forms large loops in its yearly search for the path of least resistance. Eventually, these meanders will be cut off to form oxbow lakes as the river continuously redefines its serpentine course."
